Question: Form a polynomial f(x) with real coefficients having the given degree and zeros. Degree: 4; Zeros: -4+2i; -3 multiplicity 2. It asks me to enter the polynomial. I got this...f(x) = a(x^4-2x^3-19x^2+48x+180 Which is wrong.. I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT I AM DOING WRONG OR WHAT THE RIGHT ANSWER IS!?!?! RAGE!!!! Please help ;) Best Answers: Math 1050/College Algebra Homework Help? Trey | 9 days ago
-4+2i is a root, so is -4-2i x= -4+/-2i x+4 = +/-2i ==> (x+4)^2 = -4 ==> x^2+8x+20 = 0 so x^2+8x+20 is a factor. -3 is a root with multiplicity 2. So (x+3)^2 is another factor. f(x) = a[(x+3)^2][x^2+8x+20]

25k + 12 = -13 In order to get the numbers on one side and the letters on the other first subtract 12 from both sides: 25k = -13 -12 25k = -25 now to get 'k' on it's own, as it is multiplied by 25 we must do the opposite and divide both sides by 25; k = -25 / 25 k = -1 24 + h/4 = 10 So again we want to get the numbers on one side and the letters on the other therefore we must subtract 24 from both sides: h/4 = 10 - 24 h/4 = -14 now as h is being divided by 4, we want to get h on it's own so we must do the opposite and multiply by 4: h = 4 * -14 (*=multiply) h = -56 -9 = 15 + v/3 -9 -15 = v/3 -24 = v/3 -24*3 = v -72 = v v = -72 -17 + q/8 = 13 (add 17 to both sides as it is negative) q/8 = 13 + 17 q/8 = 30 q = 30 * 8 q = 240 8m - 14 = -7 8m = -7 + 14 8m = 7 m = 7/8 m = 0.875 Hope this helps :) Originally Answered: Math homework help - easy algebra?

25k + 12 = 13 1. subtract 12 from bothe sides 25k = -25 2. divide both sides by 25 k = -1 24 + h/4 = 10 1. subtract 24 from both sides h/4 = -14 2. multiply both sides by 4 h = -56 Basically just do reverse operations! comment if you need help on the rest
