Women were made to serve men?

Women were made to serve men? Topic: God bless the sister that comes between me and my man
June 26, 2019 / By Annemae
Question: But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of the woman is the man, and the head of Christ is God. 1 Corinthians is actually making me think about leaving Christianity. I'm sorry, but if I am also God's child, what difference does my gender make?

I do not think this is cause for too much concern. Lets look at it simply like this. 1. Man - Woman, 2. Christ - Man, 3. God - Christ. No. 3 - Since the verse shows that the relationship in the whole is the same, would you say that Christ was made to 'serve' God? No! Spiritually, they are the same entity, the Trinity - Father, Son & Spirit. No. 1 - Similarly, Woman was not made to 'serve' man. They are the same, remember, the two shall be joined and shall become one flesh. Spiritually they (husband & wife) are the same entity. No. 2. - Note here that the word 'man' here refers to the generic human being (both man & woman) that is why the word 'the' does not come before the word 'man'. The relationship between Christ and humans is more complex and will take too long to explain because there are different ramifications from Jesus, to Jesus Christ, to Christ Jesus and Christ. Suffice to say that Woman was not made to serve Man, they are one entity and are SONS of God. The word sons is used to cover both genders, it is to ensure that there is no misunderstanding about the position of the woman in God - she is an heir like every male to the riches of God in Christ Jesus. I hope this answers your question. Now as an aside, if this was enough to make you ditch all the wonders of God - small is your strength! You need to build up on your self-esteem. Jesus called himself a servant to man! Philippians puts it better when it says even though He was God he stripped himself of divinity and became man, and as man he humbled himself until death! But it does not reduce from the fact that He was Very God of Very God! No matter what you do for a male or female on earth, be he or she your boss, father, mother, brother, sister etc it does not change the fact that you are a SON OF GOD, that the bible speaks of you, that you are a wonder going somewhere to HAPPEN! That you carry the blessings of Abraham and any man who comes in contact with you in life is blessed! When you do not know who you are and the magnitude of the blessing God has in you, you may give it all away (like Esau) for a morsel of bread. SAD. Now child of God, get off this pity party and go be a blessing to the world!

I don't know why so many people feel that it's necessary to worship a God.What do you expect from God? I attend a lot of church since I was a kid.Catholic,Basel,Jehovah Witnesses,Methodist and many more,I found one thing.People worship God hoping He'll give them something in return. They pray to God bring paradise to them, eradicate those wicked people, rule the world with righteousness, give them strength to continue their life in this corrupted world.Have you ever think what if God say that such bullswhits are man-made promises, not me. Will you continue to worship God Ol' Mighty?Be honest to yourself, will you? How can you say that you love God if you "love" him based on these "promises"? Back to the point, they urge you to go to church because they said that Bible require them to that,it's an important step in worshiping God.I kind of agree with that because attending church enables you to receive many new information about Bible and communicate with other church-goers and make friends. It's a good thing. However, obviously, those church-goers turn this "go to church" a must and traditional more than willing from heart. They condemn people for not attending church. No matter how good the thing is,from the moment you force people to accept it or follow it,it'll become a poison.Same like going to church which is a good but then turns to be a burden because they're forcing us. People always think they need to worship something or joining a religion activity because that makes their life meaningful. They say the only to be saved is worship God.What I know,no matter how hard to try to worship Him but your attitude is equal SHWITS, tell me,how can you get saved? People don't realize it's actually starting from their heart. The world turned into a terrible poop pits because of the greediness in people.Where does greediness come from? Yeah, yourself. So to get saved, cleanse yourself, because all of things start from your heart, from what you believe, that's gonna influence your whole life.Attending church or joining any religion are irrelevant. What I'm doing right now, I read books of Krishnamurti and Buddhists(there's other more but these are my fav). There are content in these books colliding each other but in the end they explain the reason that told us follow what we think is right and believe everything you want, never blindly follow what others say...even what's written in this book.I like that, they never force us to follow them, saying it's the only way to get saved.Plus, this one Buddhist book(sorry,it's in chinese,佛教的见地与修道)said that people indeed need moral guidance in life but in the end, they have to give it up because it can be poisons in us.Different people different path, thus different guidance to the truth.I really encourage you to read both of these books as they help me much, but it's your decision to read it or not,you can choose any other books that you want,no pressure.I'm not atheist,I still believe there's God.But I don't act like when I was a kid, reading bible pray to God for something like may His Kingdom come like He promised. Right now, what has to be let it be.Everyone has different state of their mind and self consciousness. No...don't get me wrong,if you still like to go to church then go on,it's your life and you decide what you want, not any people.I'm still living like a normal person do,I like money but I understand it's not my ultimate goal.We need people's advice but not taking it blindly and let it ruin your life.To hell what they're trying to say that you're lazy to church, you think they're really care 'bout you? No,they don't really give a damn 'bout you life.So...girl,move on. *and oh...thanks to baby boomer sharing the books,I'll try to find them.I like reading.

Some very good answers here. I won't repeat them but will just add that Christ's twelve disciples were also all women. BUT remember that all but one of those men were tortured and martyred. Now was Christ trying to save women from such horror by making no women an Apostle? Women are born nurturers. We naturally love children and take care of peopel. Is that worth less than anything men do??? The hand that rocks the cradle rocks the world! Just add this to the excellent comments about how a man is supposed to love his wife--not make a servant of her!

You are misinterpreting the spirit of the scripture, through Christ we are made brothers and sisters, where Paul writes that women should not speak in church he goes on to say as is the law, what he meant was that the church should not be going against the laws of the land. Of course nowadays women are no longer bound by the laws of the land and are free to share the pulpit with men. As for the Household structure God to Christ to Man to Woman, this is true, but where it says a woman should obey her husband it also commands the man to consider his wife in all he does, if this structure is followed it makes for a happy home, if it is not, you are not sinning against God, but probably making things more difficult for yourself.

You should have kept reading. That's 1 Corinthians 11, right? It goes on to say: "In the Lord, however, woman is not independent of man, nor is man independent of woman. For as woman came from man, so also man is born of woman. But everything comes from God." So guess what? Women were created in God's image too, and we're part of God's plan. We weren't made to serve men, we were made to *help* men. And men are supposed to love and respect us in return, while also recognizing that since men are usually physically stronger, they should work hard to support us, since we're not made to be hunters. I don't see how that could possibly be degrading. Woman wasn't God's afterthought. We were part of His plan from the beginning.

It does NOT say women is to SERVE man. It simply says that man is the one who will give an account for his household. The Bible does say that women is to submit to the husband and understand his responsibility to God. But the Bible says that the husband is to love his wife as Christ loved the church. That is a huge statement. If any husband loves his wife that much, than she will be the happiest woman in the world.

i know you're going to end up giving the points to someone who answers with "oh i love it!", but i'm going to give you my honest impression anyway.... Its a little fairy tale-ish... Like... obviously a good guy would try to fill those roles... but love is more complicated than that... its not about a knight in shining armor... its about finding someone who you love... someone that you want to make happy and who wants to make you happy so that you both end up head over heels... The second stanza is much better... i just don't like the very last line... but the rest of it is nice... the whole "i will not search but just wait" stuff... The difference between good poetry and bad poetry is how "real" it feels. If you can read something, and feel like you know exactly how the person feels... then its good poetry... I would recommend Bukowski, my favourite poet (although he's a little cynical... his later stuff tends to be more uplifting...) Here's a poem my girlfriend picked out for me that he wrote... "Click of a miracle" it's a grand time then a perfect and peaceful photograph dream- like such small moments keep people alive such small moments so large when it all comes together and holds. Its beautiful, isn't it? I wouldn't recommend copying his style, but simply take the idea of how REAL his words are. You can tell each word came from his soul... Its not contrived, its absolutely sincere. And that's why it's amazing....
