Cursive Writing No Longer Taught?

Cursive Writing No Longer Taught? Topic: Best reading and writing apps
June 20, 2019 / By Zibia
Question: I recently learned that my city school district no longer teaches cursive writing. I was very surprised at the dumbing down of education. After a bit of investigation I learned that this is not uncommon in America. Is this omission meant to help the students pass with less requirements? What type of signature does a student use. Is it an 'X' with a witness or just printed? That is assuming that the student knows the alphabet. I learned 'typing' or rather keyboarding and cursive in the late 60's. What I'm reading is students are not capable of learning both in 4 years. Yikes! Welcome to Hope and Change.

Printed signatures (or mixed printing/cursive) are legal, too, and always have been (ask an attorney if you don't believe this!) And the fastest, clearest handwriters avoid cursive anyway; highest-speed, highest-legibility handwriters join some, not all, of the letters (making the easiest joins and skipping the rest) and tend to use print-like shapes of those letters whose printed and cursive forms disagree. For learning handwriting when the teacher can't (or won't) teach it, consider the iPhone app "Better Letters" at http://bit.ly/BetterLetters -- or you can download right from the App Store if you have an iPhone or iPodTouch -- http://bit.ly/DownloadBetterLetters

Printing is not a legal signature which is required for signing applications, leases, mortgage agreements, etc. - the list is long - unless you are illiterate (cannot read or write). It is irresponsible not to teach cursive and I bet it is because they want to pass students and fewer requirements means that they can "pass" more students just as you said. It's also stupid because it's not like writing cursive is hard to do. I sure hope that you are wrong about this. The schools aren't do anyone any favors in preparing them for the real world and decent jobs. They don't seem to be teaching proper grammar anymore either. The incorrect use of verbs is increasing and I find it to be appalling.

Is it possible for you to insert pictures that coincide with your paper and give it at the same time a more vivid expression of what you are saying ? Leave a caption or two under each picture explaining the photo and possible proofs of the relationship between the pictures and the paper. Leave all your footnotes for the back of the paper but make sure your numbers coincide and write them out correctly so when you type them on your paper ,it can make it very professional.

Your teacher knows what 8 page 12 font double space looks like. trust me. Do some more research or expand on what you already have. Face it you're gonna have to write the eight pages. Sorry
