French or Biblical Names? Topic: The sisters in french
July 18, 2019 / By Hanan
Question: I'm writing a story and have two main characters who are brother and sister. I want their names to be either of French origin or Biblical origin. I was originally thinking Gideon and Alison but they aren't French or Biblical. I'm thinking maybe Ezra for the boy? The characters aren't really developed but there is one 22 year-old boy and one 16 year old girl. Thanks for the input. WDYT of Ezra and Delilah

I'd go with Luc {French version of Luke} and Lydie {French form of Lydia} Then they are both Biblical {New Testament} and French New Testament names are more common in France; Roman Catholicism is the main religion Ezra and Delilah are Old Testament names Happy 2014

You could use Job for obedient, because Job was loyal to God and did whatever he wanted, no matter how miserable God made him. Maybe Noah for Protective- since he protected his family and all those animals in his ark during the flood. Lillian was described as lovely and endearing.

Actually Gideon is a biblical name! I really like Ezra too though. Some others from the bible are: Ezekiel (zeke for short) Asher Isaiah Obadiah Jonah Luke Shiloh Phinehas (Finn for short) Titus Solomon Reuben Ruth Leah Priscilla Korah (a boy name in the bible but I like it for a girl) Eve Delilah

Women of the New Testament would be Jesus' peers. Old Testament women, like Ruth, would not be His immediate brethren...they'd be ancestors but not people He could actually know.
