Help Choosing laptop, Details inside Please? Topic: Incase store locations

Question: HI, Ok, I know alot about desktops but I dont know about laptops too much. Now I want to stay in the "before tax 599.99" Range. Will not go over. I prefer more gaming power than processing power. I will be using it for web designing, and photoshop, and other applications. I wont be doing any 3DS Max rendering on it either. I like Toshiba's but open to anything. The thing is, I dont know about the graphics chips inside usually. I would rather have one that can play some games, and handle the graphics a bit better than pricessing. I need to stay in the 599.99 and below range. Prefer 549 if possible. I mean I dont neeed SUPER processing power for programs like 3DS Max or w/e. I currently use a P4 2.6 Desktop with a high end Graphics card and run most games even The Last Remnant so I mean any Duo Core will be faster than What I'm used to. So help me out please :) ONLY at www.bestbuy.ca. I live in Quebec , By Laval. So thats where I would be making my purchase just incase we need to search store location. Please list your top 3. ALSO.. I would way prefer a larger screen over some processing power aswell. or High Resolution. I use also a laptop thats a older P4 1.6 but has a resolution of 1600X1200 and makes it easy to fit alot on the screen. Thanks Thanks for the answer. See the main reason I wanted a larger screen is for my web designing. Having say documents on the left of the screen and dreamweaver on the right etc. I have a Tower i use for gaming when I want to. The Laptop is stricktly for Portability/laying in bed and using it. I am just looking for the best gaming/processing rig I can get in that Price range. Larger screen the better for me and prefer widescreen.

Just wanted to say that laptops are not really the best for gaming. Getting adequate graphics is a costly affair ... And you need processing power as well, because graphics alone won't do the work. I would say at least 2GB of RAM, around 1.8/2.0 GHz of processor power and at least 512 MB of graphics. And about your screen size, I wouldn't recommend anything over 15", because I have 17" laptop at the moment and its a nuisance! But getting higher resolutions like 1600x1200 depends on the graphics system you choose. I'm not quite sure about the cost though .. Hope this helps!

I have an acer aspire one. I acquired it for my birthday and I use it for the whole thing you employ it for. I'm homeschooled so I use it for all my paintings. I reside in Australia and I constantly use Skype to speak to my loved ones that reside in California. It performs track/films fairly good. I realize you stated you desired a fifteen" display. I are not able to don't forget how gigantic my display is however it is a mini pc. I consider it is a lot larger than my historic pc which was once 15" when you consider that it is such a lot less complicated to convey round and it is such a lot lighter. I hated the historic one it was once soooo heavy. Don't get a Mac, I had certainly one of them for a at the same time, they're irritating and mine saved braking.

I dont know anything in pounds I am used to dollars. But you will be fine with a basic laptop. In dollars, you will be better off with one that costs around $600. There are some that go for $300 but I dont think they last long enough... not more than a year. I recommend HP. For antivirus, get the one thats called Dr. Web Security Space. Its the best available. Its very silent... no pop ups, no questions nothing. Does it job quietly and an award winner. If not that for any reason, go for Kaspersky Antivirus 2009.
