Question: So I have this homework on order of operations. I had to put the parenthesis in the right place. (im not gonna ask you to do that, I already did, lol) But say I had a test on that at school in math class. How do you know that you are supposed to put the parenthesis there? :) Thanks!

Think about order of operations. Exponents first. Multiplication and division before addition and subtraction. Multiplication/division left to right. Addition/subtraction left to right. Parentheses are only necessary when you want to change the order. If you're not sure, try to determine the answer with and without parentheses. If the answer changes, you need them. 5 + 6 * 7 = 47 none needed 5 - 2 + 3 = 0 needed because without them the answer is 6

there is a "standard" order of operations, commonly accepted and practiced.... you can make up you own order, or fashion a custom order, to test your understanding of how it works, and some computer programs use a non-standard form ( polish calculator or push/pop operations) but generally, you are expected to know "the" order of operations, the standard.

Bin Laden, the leader for Al Qaeda, was born in Yemen and raised in Saudi Arabia. His, and other groups in that area, main demand has consistently been that America leaves the region and let those countries and its peoples rule and control themselves. During all those wars (Cold War was a political fight not military mainly) America either had troops in the area (e.g. stationed in Saudi Arabia) or helping one side (Helping the predecessor for Al Qaeda - called Mujahedeen - in Afghanistan). In other words, America made enemies and upset the people for having troops there. It also managed to train and arm groups that in the future would attack America. For example, because of the Cold War against Russia we armed Mujahedeen, which would soon become Al Qaeda and Taliban.

Go learn some history before asking such a question. The cold war was over 20 years before the Gulf wars.
