I am concerned about my green card application status?
Topic: Mi case status
June 26, 2019 / By Justina Question:
I was interviewed by an immigration case worker 2 months ago, everything went well, but he asked me to submit my original birth certificate in 84 days. I did turn it in at the designated immigration office in person at the reception, last month. But my status on line or via phone has never been changed. I am very concerned, as I haven't received anything in the mail, and I wonder how I can find out if they have received my birth certificate and started processing.
Last time I checked my status on line and over the phone was today, and its the same. It didn't say that my status was on hold tho.
Okay, how to schedule an appointment with them in order to check my status out in person?
It' been 23 days since I submitted my birth certificate.

I don't want upset you but usually it takes 2 weeks to get the approval after you submit the missing document. Did you get anything at the reception? Please, make an appointment ASAP and clear the situation!
I wish you the best!!

Yes. It's just a case of updating what HAS to be updated.
Just make sure her medical was done less than 6 months ago so you can get the results from her DS-3025 (vaccination worksheet) transcribed onto an I-693. If she requires more shots, she can get them from the Civil Surgeon who will be transcribing the DS-3025. DO NOT let anyone tell you that she needs a new medical. She just needs her old medical transcribed (if her vacs are complete).
Also, you will be filling out a new Affidavit, so I suggest you order transcripts for '09, '08 and '07 returns from the IRS to include w/your I-864. They're free (1-800-829-1040).
Most of the forms for your wife's AOS will be different from those required by K3.
Good luck. I remember Adjustment of Status well (when I adjusted my husband) ...
Bill, two months seems a long time if all that was remaining was the verification of your birth certificate. I feel it would be best if you went back to the office and contacted the same case worker. That way you can make sure that your certificate reached the right person and that your case is being followed. It also just might be a case of backlogs and the process may be taking a little longer.

The last place you want to check is with USCIS online or by phone. That system is never, ever up to date. Make an appointment and check on your status in person.
