Question: I'm under a lot of stress lately, I've been having tons of homework and tests every other day and all. Plus, I'm trying to lose weight so I'm eating less, AND I'm a vegetarian. The combined two are leading to my downfall. My mom's friend reccomended I take vitamins to help me focus, because lately it seems like my brain will not turn on. What kind of vitamin should I take? What vitamins do I actually need?

If you are vegetarian then you certainly do need to supplement your diet !! Firstly with a good quality multi B complex supplement including all the B vitamins - B1, B2, B3, B5, B6 and B12 - as they work best as a group. Blackmores do a good one which is called B complex mega stress supplement for around $30.00 for 125 tablets. But what price your health hey?? Symptoms of B12 deficiency are inability to concentrate, irritability, moodiness, dizzy spells, loss of balance, fatigue and exhaustion, headaches and migraines, nausea and vomiting, insomnia, constipation, excessive sweating, tingling and prickling and numbing sensations in the outer extremities and even chest pains and heart palpitations........ quite scary actually if you don't realise the vitamin factor. When our bodies are placed under extra stress our precious reserves of the B's will be used up rather smartly. As they are a water soluble group of vitamins our bodies can neither store or produce them so we need to ingest them on a daily basis. Primary sources of the B's are :- organ meats such as lambs fry and kidneys, skimmed milks, cheese, fish and eggs. The B's are vital for healthy neural and immune system functioning. Also make sure you are taking a good quality fish oil supplement for healthy brain funcitoning. Ensure you are also drinking plenty of fresh filtered water each and every day as our bodies need 2 litres of water daily just to maintain aspiration (breathing)!! Getting enough sleep each night is also vital for recharging and energizing our systems. Try to cut back on caffeine in teas, coffees and sodas as this will only serve to dehydrate you and make your system sluggish and inefficient. Try drinking more organic loose leaf herbal teas?? Peppermint will aide in digestion and also in calming and clearing up a foggy state of mind. Perhaps a nice chammomile tea bath at night would also relax you and give you the rest you so obviously need.............. either put 2 teaspoons of chammomile tea into a small muslin bag and place into a warm bath to slowly infuse while you bathe or simply make up a fresh pot of chammomile tea and pour it into the bath for you to relax and soak in!! Well as you keep getting distract by the internet, why dont you go you-tubing and find funny video. After that, go and do your homework positively speaking.. Plus also imagine the consequences if you dont do it, it is you that needs that filled out so maybe you can raise up more of your responsibility skills. be encourage, push but 2am is really way pass bedtime. Just to let you know the most important time of sleep is around 11-2am for the cleansing of liver. ok havea good night. !! Peace
