Auto Accident Attorneys? Topic: Accident case settlement

Question: I had a question! I am currently with Berg Injury Lawyers and its going on a year now. A rep from Berg keeps telling me that they are waiting for my Medi-Cal insurance to send them my medical report. Which i think is bullshit because when i ask for my medical report, Medi-Cal send's them to me ASAP. I asked my rep from Berg if i can send them my report from Medi-Cal and they said no. My question is. If i switch over to another Injury Lawfirm, Will Berg deduct any monies that will be owed to them because of the little work they have done for me? They are based on If i win my case they get paid. If i dont, they dont. They did send me to a chiropractor and i was seen him them for 3 months. Just to throw that out there. I am thinking of going with Ashton & Price. Im just tired of getting the run around from Berg. Berg also mentioned that the other party's ins adjuster is waiting for my medical report. Again i feel as though Berg has not being trying hard enough to get those documents from my medi-cal ins. Thank you Sacramento Ca It was the Lady's fault. I was rear ended while she was txting

It's probable that you signed a contact when your attorney took your case, staying that if you withdrew before settlement, that you would owe for any work the attorney did thus far. So yes, you will most definitely have a bill to pay if you switch attorneys now.

Yes, probably you'll have pay money to them if you switch to other attorney. I would suggest you to speak to them once more and try to know the exact status of your case. Hiring a new lawyer isn't going to help you in either way.

Your questions can be answered best and most accurately by your lawyers. whenever you get a lawyer involved, you automatically prolong any settlement from a couple of weeks to a couple of years. "They sent me to a chiropractor" says it all for me. :>( Why did you hire a lawyer in the first place?

I'd take the $75,000. 1) Your lawyer thinks its the best you can get. 2) You will recover fully shortly. people have recovered from a lot worse. 3) $75,000 invested appropriately will be worth the $150,000 before you know it. BTW - unless your family is wealthy, there will be a lot of student loans and grants to help pay for college. I'd invest the money for a future large down payment on a home... not a car. Don't blow this once in a life-time chance to start off with some real money for the future. Save it. Also, while you might win more from fighting it, you might actually win LESS from a jury. You never can tell... Especially when your very high legal fees are deducted from the award.
