GOW Goes Online

It’s Your Turf

Welcome to GOW online. We’re a community group in the West End of Glasgow and our website is primarily for our residents to keep abreast of what’s happening within the community.

GOW is the acronym for Gibson Street, Otago Street and Westbank Quadrant.

Why Have a Website ?

We want to improve communication between you and your community group. A website also allows us to pool a lot of information, affording ease of access to everyone within GOW who uses the internet.
This may be at home, at your Uni or college or free at the local library (Hillhead Library).

As part of a larger ongoing process, we aim to bring together and develop our community by providing a forum for residents and wider community to interact, and to increase involvement to widen our activities.

What if I’m not an internet user ?

Everyone will still be able to read our newsletter for events, news and contact information. (Issues delivered to every flat, door to door.)

What features will the website have ?

You’ll be able to :

  • Catch up on the latest news and issues in the community
  • Find out what events are taking place and when
  • Access useful contact numbers and information (bulk uplifts, noise nuisance, factors etc.)
  • Get informed on issues, such as how to increase/start recycling ; getting involved in gardening in the back court ; how to deal with problems with your landlord, neighbours or HMOs
  • Take a look at GOW’s history
  • Download our newsletters.
  • View a photo gallery of GOW’s progress and local events
  • Contact us with suggestions and questions
  • Get involved
  • See exactly what GOW has been doing on your behalf
