Gardening

Green is Good
As we continue to develop our sustainable greenspace, more and more of our residents have discovered or re-invigorated a love of gardening. For some this means tending hanging baskets, growing vegetables, or simply enjoying a good weeding.
The plants, trees and flowers and shrubs we have growing are mostly low-maintenance, but as with any garden, there is work to be done to keep the area looking its best.
Many of our residents lead busy lives ; tending the backcourt helps install a real sense of wellbeing and calm. The health and theraputic benefits from this activity are immense.
Perhaps you’ve never cared for a garden before, or helped us spruce up the backcourt, but would like to get involved ?
We’re producing a GOW Garden Guide which details what needs to be done within the garden at any given time in the year. Keep a look out for news on the site of any clean-ups or garden events,
Our scope for growing more fruit and veg is pretty limited given our small number of growing bins and soil beds. However, we may investigate adding planters where we have space.
