GUU licence extension
GOW objections to the application for a proposed extension to the Glasgow University Union license were heard by the Licensing Court at the Parish Hall, John Street.
Prior to this hearing GUU had withdrawn the request for a 3AM finish on Thursday evenings and the 2AM finish on Saturdays was accepted but this was an opportunity for a plea for greater liaison by GUU with the Community. More effective arrangements should begin in January after the holidays.
Fire in bin shed
At about 6.30 am in the morning, Blair from No7 noticed smoke coming from the brick bin houses beside No5 Westbank. He discovered a fire with several burning traffic cones. There were some empty bins full of water and a disgarded paint tub which Blair used to put it out.
He also contacted the Police who were not interested in coming out, as no one was seen actually light the fire.
