A body has been found near the Botanic Gardens in the West End.

Fears were growing last night that the body of a man found in a Glasgow park is that of a 24-year-old missing Renfrewshire man.

“Callum McColl disappeared on Friday evening after a night out at city-centre nightclub Kushion.

Strathclyde Police launched an investigation after a man’s body was discovered by a member of the public in the Botanic Gardens in the west end of the city, under the Queen Margaret Drive bridge at about 8.55am yesterday.”

“A police spokeswoman said the death was being treating as unexplained at this stage and that a formal identification would not be made until officers had the results of a post-mortem, which was being carried out last night.”
