Eric Kay steps down as Chair

Eric Kay, a founder of the GOW Community has stepped down as Chair of the Community after many years of hard work. Eric says:

“After 15 years on GOW Triangle Community committee I stepped down at the AGM on 26 May. It has been an honour and a privilege to have been so closely involved in developing GOW over these years and I wish the 2016 committee every success in developing the backcourt and the neighbourhood.”

The GOW Triangle would not be what is it today without his tireless and selfless contributions over the years and his commitment to establishing what is now a fantastic community space that is known, respected and that has inspired many throughout Glasgow and beyond.

Direct action and persistence by Eric have led to great environmental improvements; reductions in anti-social behaviour; positive partnerships and relationships with other organisations; the founding of the Gibson Street Gala; the mentoring of future key community actors and much, much more!

The residents of GOW feel very lucky to live in a space such as this and give lasting gratitude to Eric for leading the development of GOW over the last 15 years.

Don’t worry however, Eric will still be a keen member of the Community and we all look forward to seeing him with his litter picker at the next clean up.
