I need advice on starting a music career please?
Topic: How to write a rock guitar song
July 17, 2019 / By Vortigern Question:
It's been my dream to write and/or play (rock) music for a living. I came close to getting a band together, but one guy dropped out and I lost touch with him and the other moved away. I am decent on guitar, and if possible would like to train myself as a vocalist, if anyone has advice there. I write lyrics that are great, in my own opinion. Can anyone give me advice on how to start a band while I have no resources or connections, or possibly pitch lyrics to other already successful bands? (I'm 16, a sophomore in high school) thank you to anyone who can help me

Dude. I'm 31 and have been in and out of bands since I was 16. Over the last 15 years I have tried to form at least 10-12 different bands, (most don't get out of the garage, because it's hard to find every piece of the puzzle, which frustrates some of the other members, so they end up leaving). I have tried out for several bands and have either been shot down cuz I didn't fit in, or I didn't like the band. Every time I think I find a good band, someone leaves because THEY didn't like the band, OR we kick them out because they weren't good enough or didn't fit in, musically speaking.
Point being... it's hard to find a band that will stick together, that will have the same ideas about how the music should sound, how serious the band should be. It's easy to find 1 or 2 guys, but to find the last member is difficult. Over the last 2 or 3 years I have been playing with my friends. We have several songs, wrote and recorded a demo and have played a few shows. I'm fine with this now. We finally jammed the other day after like 3 months. The drummer just had a second kid. Family, work and friends become more of a priority and the band suffers.
It's VERY hard to form a band... It's harder to keep the band together, focused and on task. It's easy to write music.
I used craigslist and have checked out ads at my local music stores bulletin board. It's beneficial to have a good teacher. He/She will know other students in your same skill level and can help introduce you to other musicians. From there, you simply need to start networking with them to meet other musicians. Go to local teen shows and meet the bands...etc.

Steps for you to become an actress ;
1. Search for acting classes, and take them. Feel free to do singing and dancing classes as well, sometimes they include them.
2. Keep doing plays and everything you can.
3. Search a ( beginners actors resume ) on google images, and write one down on paper about yourself.
4. Go to a studio and take 3-5 professional pictures.
5. Search agents and agencies around your area and send then your resume along with your headshot.
6. When you get an agent or into an agency they should lead you from there :)
Vocalists are in high demand, guitar players are quite common, but if you can do both at once then you'll do pretty good. I suggest finding a drummer, bass player, and another guitarist (makes for good harmony). make sure your equipment is right, a decent wattage amp and a nice guitar. get together, write a few songs, cover some, make a facebook page for the band, find gigs, make a few shirts/wristbands, and maybe even record an EP. if you do this you should be able to gain popularity at a good rate.

I sing and that i play piano, however I are not able to write songs, most effective lyrics. My buddy and that i met while i began taking tune GCSE on the begin of this 12 months, and he or she is effective at piano and tune writing, however she does not sing a lot, so i sing for her. We are watching at getting exposure via gambling circular nearby pubs, like a buddy of mine does. See if you'll be able to discover anybody who writes songs and take a look at to discover areas so they can assist you to play. Playing in small areas will even begin to spice up your trust.

Maybe yes, maybe no.
Some companies will allow you time to pursue an advanced degree if it's related to your job. They may even help with tuition! However, I've found it can be tough to do. You've really got to want it to complete your goal. I dropped out half way through a post-graduate degree because the company was sending me on travel assignments two weeks out of every month. I couldn't keep up the coursework. I didn't want it bad enough to go back. I have gone back to school at times but only for "fun classes" self-enrichment type classes like photography & color theory.
