Major Internet Issue?

Major Internet Issue? Topic: S view case settings icon
June 20, 2019 / By Landon
Question: Alright I have had this same BS internet issues ever since I had wireless internet. But my latest issue is my wireless internet. I feel like it has something to do with low connectivity. My NAT is open but my desktop computer cannot connect at all, my labtop works fine, my moms laptop doesnt work, my dads laptop and my brothers desktop works fine, and my xbox connection is laggy. When I talk to someone there voices lags but I can still understand them and in games I often lag. It's a Cisco router with a WEP key. I also tried to change my wireless channel which didnt work

With all the connections I guess the lag is because others are connected and using the bandwidth. Imagine a tap, when just you are using it you get full flow, but when someone runs a bath, and the toilet gets flushed, and someone is using a hosepipe, then what you get slows to a trickle. As for the not connecting issues, here are some suggestions: First try moving comp so you have a good strong signal. Next go to the network connections and delete the wireless connection. Now go to "view available networks" click on the one you want and click connect (this will create a new wireless connection in network connections). Now ensure that you have the correct password and authentication (wep in your case), does it connect? If not it may be your network settings, go to control panel -> internet options, click on the connections tab, click the LAN settings button. In here you can set it to automatically detect settings, and turn off any proxies. Try connecting again. Still no luck? Right click your wireless icon in the taskbar. Click status. click properties. In the list highlight your Internet Protocol TCP/IP , and click properties. In here check it says to assign IP address automatically, (also DNS server), click OK. Try to connect. Hopefully one of these should do the trick. Only other thing I can think of is to download a file called WinsockFix.exe and see if that helps.

I suggest I allow Apple Time Service and Bonjour service to connect. Blocking them from the internet may be blocking your self from connecting.

Make sure that your phone has the letters "XEV" in the top right corner. If no, then you need to try and to reconnect with the tower using several options. Option #1 click on the "manage connections" icon, uncheck the mobile network icon, wait 10 seconds, then...re-check the icon, and see if you can get the "XEV" symbol to come back. The XEV represents, voice, data, and internet Option #2 click on the "options" icon. click on "mobile network", then press the "blackberry key" (the one with the 7 dots on it, usually just left of the track pad/ball), then select "update profile" And if that doesn't work, do a complete power down, pull the battery, wait thirty seconds, and power back up. Proceed with options 1 and 2 above. If nothing works, then you are either out of verizon's coverage area, or the tower in your area is down. Drive somewhere else about 5-10 miles away, if it works there, it's your tower. If it still doesn't work, then you need to take your phone to the store. Good Luck
