Topic: **First in math homework****Question:**
hi guys... I am wondering if you could help me with my math homework... I don't seem to know how to solve these, as i am very poor in math, so, to those who are fortunate enough to be good in math, please do help me, thank you... ^_^
1. simplify: -2x-(3y+x) - {y-(x+2)} - {2y+(4x-3y)}
2. simplify: 2x^2 -3x -14 / 2x^2 -3x -5 (multiplied by) 2x^2 -x -10 / 2x^2 -5x -7
3. write: (3x^ -6)(9x^2) in simplest form
4. If the coordinates of midpoint of segment joining A(3,1) and B(x,y) are M(2,4) find B(x,y)
5. find the LCM of (2x^2 +x -6) and (2x^2 -5x +3)

I'm pretty sure you meant those of us who are unfortunate enough to be good in maths 1) first we deal with the ones in the curly brackets{} -2x -3y -x -(y-x-2 -2y-4x+3y) -2x -3y -x -y + x +2 +2y + 4x -3y now we collect the like terms -2x-x +x +4x -3y -y +2y -3y +2 =2x -5y +2 2) to do this we factorise every thing ( don't bother I already did that) (2x-7)(x+2)/(2x-5)(x+1) * (2x-5)(x+2)/(2x-7)(x+1) simplified it gives you (x+2)/(x+1) * (x+2)/(x+1) (x^2 + 4x +4)/(x^2 + 2x +1) 3) By the law of indices 9x^2 = 3x^4 and by another law of indices 3x^ -6 * 3x^4= 3x^ -6 +3 =3x ^ -3 4) normally (3+x)/2 = 2 and (1+y)/2 = 4 so 3 +x =4 and x=1 1+y = 8 y =7 so B=(1,7) 5) to find the LCM you would first factorise them to see if they have any common factor (2x - 3)(x+2) and (2x -1)(x-3) since they don't have any common factor their lcm is their multiplication i.e 4x^4 -8x^3 -11x^2 +33x -18
