1. A trilogy is a story. Just because its the end of the story, doesn't mean its the end of the series. Beckett, Jones, the chest, were all apart of a story, that stories over, a new one of Pirates has begun. I think its very possible. 2. Keira doesn't want to do it. Its possible she and Orlando will both be cut out, since their romance story is over, and we know how it ends. 3. Yes, this is a very interesting article i found: Our source says that Pirates of the Caribbean 4 is no longer just a possibility, it’s almost a certainty. More importantly, Johnny Depp is all but assured to return, though our scooper claims he may end up making as much as $35 - $40 million to do it. Also returning will be Geoffrey Rush and Gore Verbinski as director, but forget about the rest of the cast because from now on the movies will only be about Captain Jack. That’s right, Pirates 4 will cast aside Will and Elizabeth to make it an all Jack Sparrow movie. That won’t be the only change Disney is planning to make when the series continues though. Our scooper says, “the ending of Pirates 3, the fountain of youth story might not be the only story they might used the next pirate’s film. The fountain story could used in another form to introduce the story for Pirates 4… the next film might be a departure from the same formula of the last three movies as well, meaning that Jerry Bruckheimer could be planning to enter the realm of Science Fiction this time around and it could be the heart of a new trilogy with Jack Sparrow and his crew of misfits. Some of the brainstorming going around involves some Jules Verne type of scenarios involving some pretty big flying machines, a man who wants to rule more than just the ocean, a encounter with the most famous and dangerous pirate of all, a race to get to a lost world (Hint, Hint) and Jack and his crew going to where no pirate has gone before (No, its not space but Disney had made animated movie about this place before with Michel J Fox voicing one of the characters).” Pirates science fiction? What the heck? The Michael J. Fox movie our source is referring to is almost certainly Atlantis, which would tie in the Jules Verne and science fiction elements mentioned. Apparently we’ll also get more of Jack’s past and his family, which could also mean more Keith Richards. I’d actually be ok with that, Keith was surprisingly good. Don’t get too attached to the idea of another Pirates of the Caribbean sequel though. Our insider thinks that Disney plans to take a long, long breather between Pirates movies: “word is that the start date could be around 2009 to 2011.” I don’t think we need another Pirates sequel, but if they’re going to do one, giving the franchise time to recharge is probably a very good idea. As always, consider everything above as nothing but rumor till something more develops. Our source is a proven one, but if we can’t give you our source, then consider anything we tell you as unconfirmed gossip. Wikipedia says: Walt Disney Pictures has reportedly made tentative plans to shoot a fourth film in 2009.[20] Johnny Depp has stated that he would love to play Jack Sparrow for another trilogy "if they had a good script."[21] In February 2007, after filming was completed on Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, screenwriter Terry Rossio said he and Ted Elliott may try to write a screenplay, though "It's like the fourth Indiana Jones picture — there are forces in play to make it happen, and forces in play to make it not happen."[22] Producer Jerry Bruckheimer has indicated interest in a spin-off,[23] but was exhausted by the trilogy's production.[24] Gore Verbinski feels that "the big danger is diminishing the brand... it would have to be a tale worthy of telling" for him to return.[25] If the director returned, he noted that "I would start fresh and focus on the further adventures of Captain Jack Sparrow."[26] Keira Knightley has stated that she does not wish to continue playing her character of Elizabeth Swann as she wants to do different projects, since she has been involved in the filming since she was 17 years old. Thats it! I Love Pirates t.m.

It's a beautifully written song and builds the mood so well. Did you notice how the lyrics referred to the Pirate Brethren, Calypso and Davy Jones? Yo ho, fellow pirate!

it has not been confirmed. according to an article (i forgot which one but you can look it up by searching pirates of the caribbean 4 in google) that johnny depp is still interested in makeing a fourth installment (provided the script is good) but keira knightly and orlando bloom reportedly made a pass for doing a fourth installment. i'm guessing that why they made the ending of the third film the way it is. the fourth one, if ever they are making one, will be a spin-off. probably following jack sparrow and another bunch of characters. :D

1.) I really think they are going to make one, because it was a cliffhanger in a way. will barbossa and jack ever get to the fountain of youth? what will happen to orlando bloom (will) and his son?! 2,) I believe keira knightley will not be in the next movie if there is one. on several site's interviews she responded ' I have decided not to do anymore. I wish to move on to bigger and better things' besides, her story is basically wrapped up. shes just gotta stay and settle with her kid. the rest of them still have a story left. will they use the fountain of youth to go back in time, let will be with his kid and bootstrap can be the captain??? 3.) umm.. not that i know of. sorry, all i heard was that keira knightley does NOT want to appear in the next movie if they are going to make one. but another interview wit johnny depp said the directors are thinking about making another movie. and he winked. hope i helped! *gaby*

They probably aren't going to include Barbosa since his importance as a character has pretty much been used up once At World's End was done.

about a 9. Don't get me wrong, Pirates 2 is awesome, but it doesn't hold a candle to the first one. It is much darker and more complex (which can be good) than the light-hearted fun of the first one. It still has the same great characters, and those awesome funny moments but it had a very serious overtone. And the ending felt like they just ended the movie because it was so long and Pirates 3 will just be the second half of Pirates 2.
