Since you gave only three examples that you know well enought to write on, I would choose The Scarlet Letter and its main character. You can use the idea of Puritan communities and how Hester would need to have an exceptionally strong character to deal with a society like that. You could even compare it to the priest (whatever his name was) and how his character was not strong enough to allow himself to confess and "get it over with".

I'm going to go ahead and assume this is about Alice in Wonderland, because I love the story and would probably be able to help. Alice goes on her own adventure. In most stories, men go on adventures while girls wait around, acting hopeless, waiting for some guy to save them. She also seems to be smarter and more logical than most girls in stories from the time, even though she still isn't the brightest light bulb in the tanning bed (take the Grimm Brothers version of Snow White, for example. She let strangers into the house THREE TIMES when she was specifically instructed not to.). It might be hard to write such a long paper on this topic, but it'd be worth trying. It's definitely an interesting topic. Unless you are supposed to show bias in the paper, you should also thing of reasons why Alice isn't a strong character.

Only if it is Alice Cullen-I feel that it would be hard since she is not one of the main characters of the book. If you find someone else who is the main character I think it would be much easier. If you can chose any character try Katniss Everdeen from the Hunger Games because she is the main character and it is in her own point of view. You can see how she is feeling in some of the hardest times. Katniss is strong because she defends herself. She keeps herself alive. She hunts for her families food. I think she would be perfect.

it depends on which alice you are talking about.. alice from twilight or alice from wonderland? lol you have to be more specific.

Gathering Blue by Lois Lowery, your strong character would be Kira. The Giver also by Lois Lowery and you strong Charchter would be Jonas. But I believe you would have a better essay with Gathering Blue.
