1) an American author and poet. 2) Notable works includes "Know Why the Caged Bird Sings". It tells of her first seventeen years, and brought her international recognition and acclaim. 3) Angelou's long list of occupations has included pimp, prostitute, night-club dancer and performer, cast-member of the musical Porgy and Bess, coordinator for Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Southern Christian Leadership Conference, author, journalist in Egypt and Ghana during the days of decolonization, and actor, writer, director, and producer of plays, movies, and public television programs. Since 1991, she has taught at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where she holds the first lifetime Reynolds Professorship of American Studies 4) Why not? She believed in the things that she wants to change. 5) IDK!? I know that she once said, "All my work, my life, everything I do is about survival, not just bare, awful, plodding survival, but survival with grace and faith. While one may encounter many defeats, one must not be defeated" 6) She is one of the most decorated writers of her generation, with dozens of awards and over thirty honorary doctoral degrees. Angelou is best known for her series of autobiographies, which focus on her childhood and early adult experiences. 7) --- She became one of the first African American women who was able to publicly discuss her personal life. Because of her, writers started to present themselves as a central character in books and other writings. --- Angelou's autobiographies have been used in narrative and multicultural approaches in teacher education. Jocelyn A. Glazier, a professor at George Washington University, has trained teachers how to "talk about race" in their classrooms with I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings and Gather Together in My Name. --- Her books have inspired many black writers to write more about their experiences and their lives as a black woman. I hope this help.(: Fan me, so I may be able to help you in the future.(:
