Question: and Why. I have to write an in-class essay on Monday, October 4, on whether My Sister's Keeper should be considered a classic. I have done research but it is hard to find things specifically on this book. If you know of such a website, please recommend it! I have read the book and done much research on this. I am looking for more opinions.

For something to be considered a 'classic', it needs to stand the test of time. So, if people are still raving over how great My Sister's Keeper is in 50 years' time, *then* perhaps it might be considered a classic. But something published so recently can't, by definition, be 'classic'.

yes, it was so sad and I will never ever watch it again. I like funny movies, I had no idea what it was all about and since I've started it, I have to finish it. It was so beautiful and yet so sad, so I won't watch it again or any movie that people dies.

While the movie was pretty good I thought it was a little disappointing since I read the book and they left out a lot of good stuff.

Are you saying you haven't even read it? Well no wonder you are having trouble with this! Read the book. In my opinion though, no, it isn't a classic but still a very good book.

My sister's keeper is a very good book about a girl who was designed so she could save her sister by giveing her a bone marrow transplant. She then sues her parents because she feels that she isn't given the right to her own body. Each chapter is written by the mum, dad, sister, brother, lawyer or the girl herself. You see each point of view, and takes you through twist and turns.

teh main character was concieved specifically to save her older sister from lukemia. It was supposed to be a one time stem cell thing when she was born. Now the main character is 13 and her sister needs a more invasive procedure she wants to refuse and her parents wont let her. She ends up suing for emancipation so she can decide for herself if seh wants to udnergo the procedure. If she doesnt older sister will die. Hence the title My Sisters Keeper is a play on the Biblical story of Cain adn Able and Cain's question to God "Am I my brother's keeper?"
