Going to make a scrapbook or two for my boyfriend for Christmas. Any ideas for theme(s)? Topic: Date place cover letter

Question: This is actually the first Christmas present I am getting him, even though we were together for 5 years and we have now been back together since August 1. We were together through our early teenage years (6th grade) up until the middle of high school. I have a pretty decent amount of pictures of him, his friends & family, as well as us together from our early teenage years and I also have current pictures of him alone and us together. I can take even more pictures once I find a theme or two for the scrapbook(s) I am going to make him as a Christmas present. I also plan on getting him something else that's small but I'm on a tight budget. Do any of you have any ideas on themes of the two scrapbooks? Should I just do one scrapbook with pictures of himself and pictures of him and his friends/his family and another scrapbook with pictures of he & I? I've never made a scrapbook before but I'm going to try my best, lol. I know of at least 10 pictures he's asked me to get copied that are really important to him, so this is where the idea came from. Thanks so much.

A couple of ideas come to mind : -- You could make one scrapbook that starts from both the front, as well as back, & "ends" in the middle. eg., you can put his fotos from page 1 onwards & your fotos from last page inwards. These should be in some sort of chronological order to showcase your 'individual' lives before you met [this could also include your own families, friends, activities, etc.]. Then, in the center pages, you can put fotos of the 2 of together, how you met, what you did, friends you Both hung out with together, places you went together, & so on. At the very center, you can leave the pages blank, to add some photos in future. This is one way of arranging the photos. In fact, you can make Two different cover-pages - one for the front with him as the focus, & when you turn the book over, the back cover page becomes Another "front" cover page, with You as the focus ;-) -- You can choose a theme such as Outings & put all related photos in that scrapbook, along with memorabilia, jottings, etc You can choose something that is his favorite [or both of yours] eg. a sport, movies, books, etc. & arrange photos & decorate pages within that common theme. -- You could have the background in the form of a calendar page, with dates, etc. - one page per month. Highlight the date(s) that mean something to the two of you - it could've been an outing together, an email chat, even a fight, a make-up, an anniversary, b'day, & so on. Then add the pictures or other stuff on top. The cute things that you say to each other can go as a streaming line at the bottom [or on any one side] of every page. Or you could have quotations, jokes, riddles, etc. -- Instead of a regular scrapbook, you could try a 3d version ! Especially if you have good photos left over that don't seem to fit any theme. = try this explosion box from Susan - i really like the idea since you can even add some mementos inside - it's a box-and-scrapbook in one. http://www.papercraftcentral.com/explosi... = or you could make a collage cubie. another fun innovative way to display pictures. and altho' it is a closed cube, you can convert one side into a lid & make a box to store the rest of the mementos in. www.creativity-portal.com/howto/a/coll... = this one uses paper bags to make a scrapbook so that you can store stuff inside the bag as well. http://www.papercraftcentral.com/paper-b... = there are plenty of other details & ideas from mini-scrapbooks to inchies, etc. etc. also, on papercentral.com -- you could convert some of the pictures into inchies, etc. & then store all in a well-adorned/decorated cubie or box. -- Or you could do an Alphabet scrapbook. Start with the letter A & think of something meaningful, something you like about him, something he likes, some shared memory, etc. eg. A - Amiable, Affectionate, Australia/America [maybe you've took a trip someplace, maybe the name of a restaurant....]... Hope this inspires too Have fun :-)

well i would make one of just you 2 and then one of him and his buddies. the one with you two i would start from the early years and the end should be a picture of you two now. kinda like a time line. Another way to do it is to find the pictures that go together like events, lets say all the pictures from his 16th birthday party, and put them all on one or two pages. Pretty much like each page has its own theme. i really dont know i am just throwing out ideas lol good luck.

Purchase: - if he enjoys sports, you can get him something related to his favourite sport or favourite team. (jersey, autographed photo) - if he plays sports, you can get him equipment he might actually need. (hockey stick, baseball glove/mitt, soccer ball, basket ball net for his driveway or even a small cheap one for his room) - if he collects anything you can add to his collection. - if he has any hobbies/interests you can try to get something related to that (a computer game he has been aching to own, an old video game he hasn't been able to find, books by his favourite author(s), box sets of his favourite tv series/or a new one you think he would enjoy, a controller for his current game console, paint brushes, a new guitar case, a new music book for him to study and learn the songs in, gift certificates, if he likes paintball you can pay for him to go do that, pay for lessons for karate or ju jitsu or other class that he would be interested in taking, etc. it depends on what HE likes) - school supplies he may be running low on, it's a practical and useful gift. - stuff he can put up/hang in his bedroom - a watch, a nice chain, a hat etc depending on what he likes to wear - gift certificate to favourite store(s), or to the movies (OR other date activity you can both do) Make: - make a gift basket. dollar store: basket (xmas themed or not), clear wrap, ribbon, filling, little trinkets etc.. and fill it with a bunch of cute or x-mas themed things.. other ideas to put in the basket: *a picture frame with a picture of you two together.. key chain.. coffee mug.. etc (you can get these personalized at some stores as well) *socks, boxers, *candy, chocolate, hot choc mix/coffee etc. (if you make a gift basket some of these can be added to the basket) - if you can sew/knit, you can either make him a pillow (in the shape of something he is interested in.. a football, hockey puck, a musical note etc) or knit him an x-mas sweater, or some mittens/hat/scarf or warm socks. - if you can bake/cook, bake some cookies/muffins/cupcakes/sweets for him OR you could prepare him/yourself a nice home cooked xmas meal and it can be part of your gift. make him a meal and exchange gifts the same night. - if you can paint/draw etc. make a beautiful picture for him (a portrait of him, copy a picture of the 2 of you, his favourite sports team or hobby etc) - if you can play a musical instrument and/or sing, write him a song? - if you can write, write him a poem or beautiful letter expressing your love for him.
