1. Find the perimenter of the figure Height: 5x-y Length: 3x+2 What's the shape of the figure. Assuming it's a rectangle, then permiter is 2*(5x-y)+2*(3x+2)=16x-2y+6 2. Find the product (12 over 3)(x^8 over x Times x^3) =4x^10 3. Evaluate 4x ^-3 if x= 3 =4(3)^-3 =4/3^3 =4/27 4. 0.54( with the line on top that means reapting decimal) as fraction 0.54545454 =54/99 =6/11 5.b= 5 over 8 divided by (-3.5) 5/8/(-3.5)=-5/28 6. Translate the diffrence between 4 times a number and 12 into algebraic expression 4x-12 7. Evalute the exprssion 3a +(k+5b)-9 A+=7 B=4 k=10 3(7)+(10+5*4)-9=42 8. Simplyfy -4(c+3)+2c =-4c-12+2c =-2c-12 9. Evaluate 3x^3 if x=4 3(4)^3 =3*64 =192 10. 19mk^3 over 57mk^(missing exponent) =1/3k^(3-missing exponent) 11. Find the product of (3^6)(3)(3^5) in exponents =3^12 12. Write 93 million miles in scinctific notation =9.3 x 10^7 13. Write 7 over 15 in decimal 7/15=0.46666666... 14. Peter made 3.5 dozen cookies for bake sale and used 7 and 7 over 8 cups of flour. how much flour is needed for one dozen cookies? (7+7/8)/3.5=2.25 cups/dozen 15. Find the common ratio in the sequence 18,6,2,2 over 3, .... write the next three terms. Common ratio is 1/3. Next three terms are 2/9, 2/27, 2/81.

Interesting question, actually. I'll post more details shortly. I sent this question to my dad (he's a math professor). Answer: (and yes, there is no right or wrong answer on this, btw). Geometry has already been covered by Answerer #3, so I'll add in probability and distribution. Settings on a camera such as shutter speed, etc. as well as your surroundings will never be precise. For instance, when you set aperture, the probability that you will get the same result from your camera, taking the same exact shot 10 or 1,000 times in a row is incalculable. An impossibility except for a set of measure zero. Such as this situation here... http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070216/ap_o... Oh..and by the way...the easiest career plan to write would be something like "Logistics coordinator for UPS or Fedex)" or someone that decides how many customer service agents needed at the American Airlines counter at what hours of the day, which days of the week, etc.. This is "Queuing Theory".

the way to make a number small like an exponent is to make it a superscript. i don't think you can do it in this, but in microsoft word it is easy. highligh the thing you want to make superscript and then right click and click font and check the superscript box

It may be how it is taught. We have a program at my school that combines teaching Mandarin with teaching magic squares and it is very popular with the K-5th graders. If you think it's just a boring program, then see if there's another one offered at a different language school in your area. (I live in an area where there are a lot of language/cultural classes because there are a lot of different nationalities and ex pats) However, at a certain point, you just have to make learning non-negotiable. If it's important to you that your daughter excel in Chinese, you need to make her study by taking away privileges if she doesn't do her best and reward her positive behavior.
