Question: Not currently recommended to take medication however would like holistic recommendation to reverse high cholestrol and restore balance in circulation affecting my legs. Currently 5'6 weight approx 158lbs and moderately active on local softball team twice a week. . live in Duarte CA. Age 54, family history of Cholestral and diabetes...test show I do not have diabetes but my cholestral level is a little abnormal and I would like to address it before I need medication Looking for a referral

as long as you have been put on acyclovir before the rash comes out you may be able to stop the full shingles virus coming out ie. the rash. you will also need pain killers (n lots off them unless your gp prescribed amitriptaline or equivalent to stem the pain... good luck.. if it is shingles.. believe me you will know!!!! (some cases of shingles progress with no rash.. just the swelling and pain... like my first attack - this is my 4th) as for the doc saying it wouldnt occur down both legs.. they said that about my face as it has affected both sides... left eye, cheek chin.. right neck and forehead apparently its rare but does happen...

When diagnosed early, treatment with antivirals (eg Zovirax) shortens the course of the disease. That is tablets, not the cream you get for cold sores. There is doubt as to whether it helps in established shingles, which is probably why his doctor didn't prescribe it. Paracetamol is good for pain, but if it's not adequate he could try something a bit stronger such as Solpadeine. Calamine lotion helps to soothe the rash. Steroids can cause spread of viruses, so should never be used without Doctor's advice. The previous question had an answer suggesting Hydrocortisone cream. DON'T, it's a steroid and may make things worse. Unfortunately the natural course of shingles is quite long and there may be residual pain after the rash has settled. If he is not getting adequate pain relief he should see his doctor again. Sorry I can't be more cheerful about it, but it's a nasty painful condition and once established the treatment is only palliative. However it's not dangerous in the sense of life-threatening.

Have you spoken to your doctor about perhaps you taking a unisom at night to knock you out so you can get some sleep? There are sleep aids that are approved for use during pregnancy and it may be enough to keep you asleep even if your legs don't agree. During the day you will just have to deal with it probably, but you are so close, your baby will be here in 2 months... you just gotta hang on a bit longer.

i'm purely 9 weeks and characteristic them. i fairly dont think of there's a therapy or therapy according to se you're able to do whilst pregnant -- different than baths, muscle rubs, etc (the huge-unfold stuff that doesnt paintings haha). one element I do is take Tylenol PM -- it a minimum of facilitates me sleep on the grounds that they're frequently the worst whilst in mattress altho i'm getting them whilst sitting in a chair watching television too.
