Sometimes there really is nothing you can say. Since she already knows that you'll be there for her - just do it. Make sure that you are there, no matter what and no matter what time she needs you. Listen to her and talk with her regardless if she's talked about the same thing three different times. Ask her if there's anything she needs.. ex: homework etc etc. Ask her if she'd like you to go to the hospital with her. There are no magical words to make someone feel better in a situation like this. You just have to be there and be strong and be their rock and hold them up - that's what a real friend does. I'm sending up a prayer for her grandfather.

The best thing is to say nothing. Do whatever she wants u to do, listen even if she is babbling, just remain by her side till the whole thing is over.
